Delivery All Day – Every Day ~ From 11:00 a.m. Daily, we deliver all of our menu items to homes, offices, businesses, hospitals, schools and arenas in North Calgary. We specialize in meeting the needs of large groups requiring anything from pizzas to full course meals, including plates, knives, forks and napkins.
Nick’s – A Family Tradition ~ Nick’s Steakhouse & Pizza was founded in 1979 by Nick Petros. Located near the University of Calgary, and directly across Crowchild Trail from McMahon Stadium – the home of Calgary’s professional football team the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL. Nick’s is one of Calgary’s finest steakhouses, and home of the city’s best pizza as well!
Born in the small village of Kardiakafti, Greece, Nick came to Canada at the age of 17 leaving behind his parents, five brothers, and three sisters. Though he had no money in his pockets and spoke no English upon his arrival, Nick worked numerous jobs ranging from janitor, dishwasher, busboy, waiter, maitre’d, to manager. He married Joan Baziuk in 1959 and together they raised three beautiful children: daughter Kim, and two sons: Tim & Mark. Nick spent countless years in the restaurant industry before he founded Nick’s Steakhouse & Pizza. With a collection of his mother’s homemade recipes along with 25 years of on the job training, Nick knew his restaurant would be a success. Nick still greets each and every customer as though they were a guest in his own home, and his genuine and vivacious personality make him a hit with the clientele.
Nick, along with Joan, Kim, Tim, and Mark, worked very hard at the restaurant over the years. Nick’s youngest child, Mark, and his wife Michelle, purchased the business from Nick and Joan in November 2000. This provided an opportunity for Nick and Joan to enjoy some R’n’R time with their eight grandchildren, and much deserved time on the beaches of Maui. Nick will never “Retire” and can be found chatting at various tables throughout the restaurant on any given day! Tim Petros, Nick’s eldest son, formerly of the Stampeders, has branched out and has his own line of frozen pizzas available in markets around Calgary. Tim also has a restaurant, aptly named Tim’s, in Cochrane, Alberta.
Together with a staff that embodies the word “family”, Mark and Michelle Petros strive to maintain the tradition that defines this classic institution and proudly carry it into the future.
