Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Mark is the youngest son of Nick and his wife Joan. He played football for the University of Calgary Dinos and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, and won Vanier cups with both schools in 1983 and 1986. Mark married his wife Michelle in 1989 and together they raised three children: Ben, Saige and Annie. Mark has never had a job other than working at Nick’s Steakhouse & Pizza, and bought the family business from his parents in 2000.
Born in and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Doug attended Sir Winston Churchill High School. Doug moved to the Lower Mainland in 1993, and managed a seafood restaurant there for 7 years. He owned his own seafood restaurant for 2 years, before moving back to Calgary in 2001. Doug has worked at Nick’s since 2001 and has two beautiful daughters.
Born in the small village of Kardiakafti, Greece, Nick came to Canada at the age of 17 leaving his parents, five brothers, and three sisters behind. Though he had no money in his pockets and spoke no English upon his arrival, Nick worked numerous jobs ranging from janitor, dishwasher, busboy, waiter, maitre’d, and manager. He married his wife Joan in 1959 and together they raised three beautiful children: Kim, Tim and Mark. Nick spent countless years in the restaurant industry before he founded Nick’s Steakhouse & Pizza in 1979.
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Bob came to Calgary in 1972 and has lived there ever since. Bob has been with Nick’s Steakhouse since it’s opening in 1979. He met his wife Susan, who was a server at Nick’s at the time. Bob has been cooking since 1975, and has cooked as far and wide as New York and Houston. Bob and Susan have two beautiful children, Amanda and Carly and one grandson Zack. Bob has a great sense of humor and often keeps things light in the kitchen by telling jokes.
