Nick's Giving Pizza
Since 2021, Nick’s Giving Pizza has been our way of giving back to the community that has supported us for over four decades. Each month, we partner with a local Calgary organization and donate $5 from every featured pizza sold. Dine-in, pick-up, or delivery, every pizza makes an impact.
Why we Give
Nick’s Steakhouse & Pizza has been part of Calgary since 1979. We are a family owned and operated restaurant, now into our third generation. Our story is rooted in hard work, community support, and the opportunities this city has given our family.
We believe businesses do not succeed alone. We exist because of the people who walk through our doors, the neighbourhoods that surround us, and the land we operate on.
Nick’s is located on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 peoples, including the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani), the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda Nations (Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Wesley), as well as the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. The traditional Blackfoot name for this place is Mohkínstsis, referring to the meeting of the Bow and Elbow rivers.
We are grateful to live and work here, and we believe gratitude should be active and ongoing.
Giving Pizza is one way we turn that gratitude into action.
Our Three Community Pillars
While we support a range of local initiatives, our Giving Pizza partnerships are grounded in three core communities that shape Calgary and that we are proud to stand beside.
Indigenous Communities
Nick’s operates on Treaty 7 territory. We recognize the responsibility that comes with building a business on this land and believe that acknowledgment must be paired with action.
We intentionally prioritize Indigenous-led organizations and initiatives that strengthen cultural connection, youth leadership, community wellness, and long-term self-determination.
Supporting this work is part of our commitment to being responsible members of the community we live and operate in.
Newcomers, Refugees & Immigrants
Nick’s exists because of immigration. Nick Petros came to Canada from Greece in 1952 and, with the support of his family and the Calgary community, built a life and business here. That history shapes how we show up today.
We partner with organizations that support newcomers and refugees as they settle, find stability, and build community in Calgary.
We understand how important access, opportunity, and community support are when starting over in a new country.
LGBTQ2S+ Communities
We are proud to support LGBTQ2S+ organizations and initiatives that promote safety, visibility, advocacy, and celebration within our city.
Inclusion is not seasonal for us. It is part of our everyday culture and the kind of space we strive to create. We believe that Calgary is stronger when everyone can live openly, safely, and with dignity.
How it works
• Each month we select a local Calgary charity or organization
• We pair them with one of our specialty pizzas
• For every featured pizza sold (dine-in, pickup, or delivery), we donate $5
• At the end of the month, we donate the full amount raised directly to the organization
No complicated conditions. No percentages. Just $5 per pizza.
