Nick’s has been a proud participant since 2019, and over the years our creations have earned awards like Best Thick Crust, Most Popular Pizza, and The Baker Award. This festival is all about pizza, community, and charity, with proceeds supporting Calgary Meals on Wheels.
Philly Cheesesteak Pizza – Our 2025 YYC Pizza Fest Entry
This year, we took the legendary Philly cheesesteak and gave it a Nick’s twist. It started with a rich, creamy cheese sauce base, topped with tender shaved roast beef, caramelized onions, roasted peppers, and a kick of pickled banana peppers, all finished with bubbling mozzarella. Every bite hit all the flavours of a cheesesteak, wrapped up in the perfect slice.
This pizza was a limited edition, available only during the contest, but don’t worry, another wild new creation is coming for next year’s competition!
YYC Pizza Fest is about more than pizza, it’s about community. Since 2014, the festival has raised funds and awareness for Calgary Meals on Wheels, a local charity fighting food insecurity in Calgary and ensuring no neighbour goes hungry. Meals on Wheels prepares nutritious, affordable meals in-house with the guidance of dietitians, delivering them free of charge to anyone in need, regardless of age, background, or circumstance. They promote health, independence, and community connection across Calgary and beyond.

The Grill Master
We’re bringing our AAA game! Nick’s charbroiled AAA Alberta top sirloin with fresh mozzarella cheese, roasted green & red peppers. Perfectly seasoned with our famous special blend of herbs and spices.
The Kardiakafti
Experience a taste of Nick’s history with the Kardiakafti Pizza. Named after the village Nick grew up in, this Greek-inspired Gyro pizza will give you the chance to taste the authentic flavours of Greece.
Morning Glory
For the second year in a row, Nick’s is the winner of the thick crust category! Breakfast has always been the most important meal of the day, and Nick’s Steakhouse has made it glorious.
We searched far and wide for Alberta’s spiciest ingredients, and combined them with our world-famous homemade crust to create a winning devil of a pizza.
While we’re proud of our creations and the awards they received, we’re even more proud to have participated in raising awareness and funding for Calgary Meals on Wheels. While Pizza Week is fantastic, this incredibly caring and compassionate organization can use your help year-round.
